“And Peter answered him, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.”
Matthew 14:28
We believe there is a moment between Peter deciding to step out of the boat with his eyes fixed on Jesus and actually stepping onto the water and being able to walk. In that moment the only thing he has to lean into is his faith in Jesus. As believers we understand that we are called out of our comfort zone and into miracles. We may not fully understand it, we may not fully comprehend how it’s going to work out - but one thing we know for sure is that God is on our side and that being suspended in our faith in Him 24/7 is going to get us to where we need to be.
Grace Over Shame
Jesus stood up and said to her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more.”
John 8:10-11
We as the church are called to be set apart from the world and become refined further into the image of Christ. This means leaving our old sinful self behind and becoming a new creation that is led by God into obedience to His word, His will and His ways. However, we must bring this message with grace and wisdom remembering that we have all fallen short of the glory of God and that only by love have we been set free. We take this same gracious love into the world around us with the expectation that Jesus will transform their lives as He has transformed ours.
Love Beyond Limits
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven”
Matthew 5:14-16
We have been given the best news anyone could ask for and we are commanded to take this news to the ends of the earth. Amazingly, God does not send us only with the news but His Holy Spirit lives within us and works through us to reveal Himself to those we speak with. This means we cross every social, cultural and geographical barrier possible knowing that the
language of Heaven will resonate throughout the earth to dispel the language of darkness in every heart.
